Does Cinergy cover major medical, hospital stays, and surgeon's fees. If so, what are the deductibles?

Hi there..

Cinergy plans are low deductible plans covering the costs of basic health care needs, such as

*Physician visits
*Prescription drugs
*X-rays and other pathological tests
*Hospital and nursing home stays, including emergency room visits
*Pre-natal care
*Surgery
*And preventive care

Where did you come across these advertisements that you're talking about?

Hi Guest, depending upon the plan you have applied for it may cover the hospital stays, surgery fees (80% of the cost) and major medical issues. But not all plans offered by Cinergy are health plans.

The two health plans offered by Cinergy are Preferred 500 and Preferred 1000. But these two are also limited benefit health plans. Not covering all the benefits offered in the standard health insurance policies.

However, these policies would give you first dollar coverage i.e. no deductible would apply.

Which one have you opted for? Haven't you got the agent explaining the benefits to you?

That is not traditional health insurance that covers you for unexpected medical event. All it is, is a descount plan with addition of a limited payout indemnity plan.

It will NOT protect you agains large medical bills. For example here is how it works, lets say that hospital charges you $7,500 per day for all of your medical expenses while you are in the hospital. ($7,500 is the actual average of what hospitals charge per day).

The plan that you are talking about will discount that amount to $4500 per day and then they are going to pay $1000 per day, your daily out of pocket espense is $3500. If you are lets say 10 days in the hospital then you will be responsible for $35,000. Still want that plan? Think again.
