Hello, im new to forum just wanted to see if anyone could help me out. i live in Georgia my mother lives in Florida and doesnt have any health insurance. Does anyone know where she may could get some that will not break her. She is single and cannot afford 3 or 4 hundred dollars a month and i cannot either for her. She supposably makes to much for free insurance but i know there has to be something for lower income people i hope. Maybe some form of insurance for lower income or something. She needs to go to doctor but always saying she cant afford it. That is pitiful and i really wanna help her out anyway i can. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I guess you may visit the Florida Dept. of Children & Families (DCF) and apply for the Florida Medicaid program. It provides medical coverage to state residents who'd meet the low-income criteria. this includes the senior citizens too. Go through the following link for more details- http://www.floridahealthfinder.gov/medical-help-resources/insurance.shtml

Hi jh0715,

You can get quotes from a number of providers online quickly and easily. There's a site in my sig that can help - just scroll down to health insurance and enter your zip code.

compare a few quotes and see which carrier will offer you the best deal. Doesn't take long and just might solve her problem.

You can also play around with levels of cover if you're on a budget, or find out which local carriers have the best rates then contact them directly to discuss your mothers needs in more detail and see what they can do - at least you'll know your already dealing with the best player in the market for you. Hope this helps - medical is one insurance you really can't afford to be without these days.
