I would google "Health Insurance Quotes." There are a lot of good websites out there that will compare rates and coverage, so you can see if a better option is available. Just be sure not to cancel your current coverage, until you have another policy in place.

Depends on what state you are in. Your best bet is to contact a good health insurance agent.

What state are you in? I could possibly give you a referral. Whatever you do, don't cancel what you have until you have something else if you can avoid it.

True, don't lose it till you find a replacement. Try google with ' health insurance' followed by your state name. Let us know your search results.

If you are in California, I have a number of alternatives available from at least five different carriers -- I do not represent Anthem-Blue Cross.

The real question is: "Why did your premium go up?"

Could it be that you are now paying the entire premium courtesy of your COBRA continuation? Or did you change coverage from one plan to another, add a spouse and/or dependents? Are we even talking about INDIVIDUAL insurance?

In California, Anthem sought up to 40% increases in its individual coverage premiums, which was denied. They were allowed, on average (after the real numbers came in), about a 10%-15% increase across the board. But your stated increase goes way beyond anything Anthem charges on a monthly basis, so there has to be a very different reason than just renewal rates.

Please review the questions I have posed and provide a reply. Or send me a PM to discuss in a less public manner.
