I wasn't aware that the rate for my employer group insurance was a weekly rate and the premium is too high for me, i can't affort to pay that, paying for insurance means that I might have to stop paying my other bills and I can't cancel it until next enrollment period, any advise for my mistake?
Can I cancel it if I get a cheaper individual policy?

Your employer's group insurance coverage is likely a monthly premium requirement. It could easily be that your employer is taking 1/4 (or so) of the premium out of each check you receive.

You'll likely discover that the group benefits are significantly greater than just about any individual policy you can "afford". But you can always drop your employer's group plan in favor of an individual plan you pay for with your own money.
