can someone give me a list of the hmo's in new york city?
also i was enrolled in affinity. apparently affinity is an insurance company and i had insurance with them. i had medicaid. they also mentioned something about managed care. can someone put all of this together and make it make sense to me?

A Medicaid HMO is a state's way of administering the federal Medicaid program by limiting reimbursements to a "prenegotiated" schedule. HMO = managed care (a physician responsible for directing/coordinating a patient's medical care).
Don't know about a list of HMOs in New York City, but it won't be huge. Try looking at the NY State Superintendent of Insurance website to see if you find anything.
