Will home insurance cover a hidden leak under my shower. Cause is still undetermined. Could be the basin, the drain, the plumbing. floor joist and such are soaked. Seems to be a small leak. This is the plumbers diagnosis. How is 50+ years old.

Home insurance will usually cover damages that weren't revealed excepting those that are resulting out as a maintenance issue. You must go through your policy papers and look for the exclusions, it might vary a bit between policies.

Yes, damages that are caused as a result of negligence are not covered. Pipe damages are usually not covered.
