Start maintaining your healthy diet a week in advance. Don't consume alcohol (or related products) during the last 72 hours.

I'd also suggest you to stay away from caffeine-based products. They elevate your blood pressure. Also avoid using pain medication e.g. ibuprofen, acetaminophen and aspirin.

If your agent never gave you guidelines on this that's kind of crappy.

Fasting is a good idea. Coffee should be ok. One cup, no cream or sugar.

Avoid strenuous exercise about 12 hours prior to exam.

Outside of that, if you're not already healthy, there's not much your going to change before the exam.

Are you able to get a simplified issue insurance?
With those you don't have to take the medical exam.

I'd sooner think the intent of the original question had more to do with trying to ensure the best possible underwriting class and not really concerned with being a rated or declined case, which would make simplified or guaranteed issue more attractive. [/quote]
