If I install a home security system, will my insurance premium go down? If so what kind of security system should I go for to get more discount?

Usually insurers give discount on homeowners premium if you is install a home security system.
Security systems vary vastly in technology and performance depending on their type and price. Based on the type of security system the premium discounts vary too. It may vary from 5% - 20% or even more depending on the insurer.
So it’s up to you to decide how much you can afford to pay to secure your home better and at the same time lower your home insurance cost.

Your insurance rate should go down if you install a home security system. I recommend having a monitored system. Look also for a system where you can have extra sensors placed on sensitive areas such as a gun cabinet and jewelery box.
