I’m the beneficiary of my dad’s life policy and he passed away recently. Can anyone tell me how long does it usually take to receive payments after filing a life insurance claim?

After you have initiated the process by contacting the insurer and notify a claim, you may expect to get information and claim forms in around 7 days.
Then you need to fill out the forms accurately and submit them along with the death certificate and other documents needed by the company.
If there are no contests or questions/complications regarding the policy proceeds, then you may receive the check from the company in about 30 days or so depending on the state rules, where your father resided.
