Is co-insured different than listed extra driver?

So, I live in Oregon and my 21 yr old daughter lives in our house with us. She has a small Honda scooter with the title in her name only. She got a liability policy from Progressive. When we asked them to list my wife and I as extra drivers (we have motorcycle endorsements) they listed both of us as extra drivers and also listed me as co-insured. So the policy shows my daughter and my names as insured rather than just her. My question is; does that give me any liability over and above just being a named driver? I don't want to be responsible for her driving or actions or have my assets at risk.
Thanks
Mike

You have to withdraw your name and your wife's name from your daughter's insurance policy, if are not willing to own up any liabilities for her actions or driving.

Unless you intend to operate your daughter's scooter, neither you nor your wife should be named on her policy -- otherwise you could be held liable for any excess claims. Whether you choose to list her on any of your personal auto or motorcycle policies is up to you (you should if she has access to drive them).

You and your wife could even go one step further and post legal notices that state, "Not responsible for the debts or obligations of any other person." (Those are usually only posted in divorce or similar legal actions, but no reason why they couldn't be used in this case -- except that you and your wife would be disclaiming responsibility for each other's debts, too, which could have unintended consequences.)
