I was offered a position with them, They work out of credit unions selling life insurance to the credit union members.

I was just wondering if they were a good Co. to get started with, last week I posted about what kind of job to get . And, after thinking about it for a while a salary is a nice thing when your getting started,

PFP is a pretty awesome company to work for I'm currently employed for them so I can tell you first hand.
base is 35k first year plus 4% if you meet your sales quota. 2% quota if you come right under the buzzer. you end up taking home and extra 2 weeks pay on a regular month.

I like the company- good benefits, good salary, and if you ever move out of state- you may be able to transfer your job there as well so there's the longevity aspect.

You need to be very outgoing and used to rejection. if people telling you 'no' gets you down and you take it personally, this job will crush you almost instaneously.

Also, free license!

Also, apart from your salary and commission, there are always other contests and incentives. if money motivates you, take the job!

For clarity, are you stating it's 4% of 35k per month in commission if you meet your monthly quota? Or do you mean 4% commission of the premium for each sale? Thanks and congrats on your satisfaction with them!

you get 4% of your quota. base quote is $20,833 in annualized premium. keep in mind you're selling very low policies. most of your clients will be customers who could not otherwise afford insurance due to income, health or otherwise. so, if you make you 21,000 quota you get about 850 dollars. I've done 50,000 before and you get an extra 2,200 by the time other incentives you hit along the way are done too. it's pretty awesome. but tedious, long, and gets boring. but I love it otherwise! good, easy money!

Im new with PFP and I am struggling with the approach to the members; just to get them to sit down and talk with me. Can you give me some advice? They are always in a rush or someone has already approached them.

I worked for PFP about 6 years ago. One thing about that job is that you better have THICK SKIN. You will deal with constant rejection all day. It is a very hard sell and you are making very little money compared to the money you bring in. One thing I will say is that it is a good way to tone up your selling skills. If you can do this job long term then other sales jobs will not be as difficult.

So, is anybody familiar with the sales manager position? What's a day in the life like? I know base is like $40k, but how attainable are the bonuses? How much of a bonus is the usual?

Any information will be greatly appreciated.

I am presently an employee with a Credit Union in Houston, Texas. I am seriously considering employment with PFP, but I cannot apply, or have my resume accepted because it would be a conflict of interest on their (PFP's) part. I definitely see great potential for myself because I know all of the credit union products, and have an understanding of the credit union "culture". I am somewhat apprehensive about giving up a job I have been on for two years, but I see great great opportunity with PFP. I just need some "food for thought".
