I find our individual dental insurance coverage policies too costly for us seniors. Are there any discount plans for us?

Yes, there are certain discount plans available in the insurance market. It's good if your dentist falls in your insurance network. The biller of your dentist might just be able to tell you which of the insurance providers they're tied with.

I guess the cheapest dental insurance offers for our seniors would come under the Managed care plans.

Traditional plans are generally costlier than the managed care options. But you'd also need to remember that one is compelled to choose from within the network of doctors. These plans would also not cover any pre-existing condition.

Under traditional insurance plans, the insured would only receive the cheapest form of treatment. Though the insured has an option to pick the doctor of his choice, his pre-existing conditions won't be covered under such plans. I'd suggest you go for the Direct reimbursement option if you're still earning.

Hey Roddick, I hope you'd see the importance of discount plans in the lives of our seniors today. The direct reimbursement plans are generally based on the insured's employment (as you've stated before), so I feel they're not always a good option for the seniors. I'd rather suggest that they go for the discount plans that are cheaper and hassle-free. These plans would reduce a major portion of your dental care cost concerning fillings, periodical check-ups, cleanings, braces etc.
