| I'm pretty excited!! I FINALLY got Dental Insurance I can afford ( some of you may think I'm crazy!!LOL). As most of you know, I'm in the military. Tricare Military Insurance has Health and Dental Insurance......however, being a Reservists, I had to buy both or nothing at all. If I was Active Duty, it wouldn't cost me a penny. However......Reservists and National Guard ( being 'part-timers') have to pay a premium of these. NOW....Tircare just came out with "you can buy one OR the other." You don't have to buy both if you don't need it. I pay $22.00 per month for up to 80% coverage on ALL dental work. I'm REALLY excited about this. I FINALLY can get some dental work done. Just wanted to share this with ya'll. |

Wow, that's certainly a great news sdcharfersfan. Congratulations!!
With the rising cost of dental care its very important to get coverage for your teeth. Hope it'll suffice your needs.
What I've heard that TDP offers 100% coverage to the policy holders for diagnostics, emergency care and preventive services. Is it true? |

You've heard it right jeorge. Tricare Dental Insurance is such a plan that covers 100% costs of the dental care. Along with it also pays the anesthesia coverage. However, the cost of the coverage is shared by the doctor licensed to offer services in your area.
Here are some additional features of the TDP policy
- The maximum benefit one may receive in a year for routine dental care is $1,2000.
- The Tricare policy also covers the eligible family members of the policy holder, and the family members earning in the levels of E-1to E-4 may enjoy reduced cost shares for availing certain services.
- It may offer lifetime coverage of $1,500 for orthodontics.

Congrats! My dad always told me that two of the most important things to take care of are your teeth and feet...lol.
I want to thank you for your service (retired AF here) and also say that I think it is absolutely unacceptable that reservists don't get the same medical benefits as active duty. _________________ Life moves pretty fast. | Yep..I'm pretty jazzed!! I'm not TOO worried about medical 'stuff' ...there are alot of programs, in my area, that helps low income parents. It's dental insurance I REALLY need. So...so, far, it's 'all good.' |

| Hey SD glad it worked out for you. I believe even being a reservist you should enjoy the benefits of full medical and dental. 80% coverage is pretty awesome though. My dad always made sure we went to dentist and it was pounded into our heads from day one. I thank him for ir today because I have white and pretty near perfect teeth. A lot of people in my age group don't. I had to actually bribe my husband to go to the dentist when his mouth was getting really bad. I try to install this way of thinking into my kids head. I hope its working. I am really happy for you and your family. |
