We're planning our finances before we expand our family. It will be great if we can get the maternity leave covered through some form of insurance. We've been suggested to go for STD insurance. Does it really cover a maternity leave? What are the benefits? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

It might. Or it might be excluded. You have to read the coverage and exclusions in the contract to know for sure. Don't rely on the words of the agent alone. Some have been known to say, "Sure, everything is covered," in order to close the sale. Few policies of any type are ever that broad. _________________ CA-licensed P&C Broker-Agent and Life Agent. Hi Max, thanks for your response. You're quite right in figuring out the way my agent described it to me. I do usually rush through paperworks, but this time I'll be more careful. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved. |

| Yeah, some states mandate insurance through your payroll deductions, others don't. You may consult your HR people regarding such short-term disability offers. Remember, that it provides for whole or a part of your salary for a fixed period of time. It might depend on your needs as certified by your doctor. |
