I am 35 weeks pregnant- I am really stressed out at work all the time and snap quite easily now- I really can't afford to take full maternity leave- How do I know if I qualify for it or not?

Well Jessa, have you not talked to your HR rep or benefits coordinator about your leave yet? If not you'd better get on it TODAY...that makes you due next week right?

CONGRATULATIONS! Boy or Girl? Name? first baby?

I haven't been pregnant in 27years, and I snap quite easily too... Wink

Hi Jessa, you may qualify for the maternity leave. The 1993 Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) ensures that parents, both father and mother may qualify for the leave if they meet the conditions described in FMLA. Check out with the law details to know if you satisfy the conditions or not.

Also, you may not qualify for a disability policy at this stage since most of the insurers consider pregnancy a pre-existing condition.

IMO there is no question she qualifys for FMLA however all that does is keep her job...there is no pay involved...and I think that is her chief concern..

Jessa, since you work for a small family business any chance you can take the baby to work with you for awhile?
