Hi

Some of the personal belongings on my boat got stolen or lost during natural disturbances. Would it be possible for me get such things covered in the future ? I would also like to know if these could be recorded and itemized too ?

Regards,
Sandy

Hi !

You do have the right to list your personal items for insurance. You might find it tougher to include those items which are not directly related to your boat.

It also depends a lot on the nature of the boat and the insured items. In case its your personal property, it is likely to be covered by the homeowners policy.
regards.

I have tried my best to come to terms with the harassment caused once the items got stolen but could not.

Let me just clarify over here, I don't at all care about most of the things on board my boat excepting the antenna (it got ripped off and taken away) along with my precious fishing pole. I am not getting a worthy replacement since then. I had lent it from my Dad !

Thanks for your reply.

Do you have the coverage for antenna? If yes, the insurance company will pay you out. My understanding is, one has to buy the antenna coverage separately and the cost of coverage is not expensive..... For some companies it is under $60.

My Dad has an inexpensive (under $60) insurance policy that will allow to seek assistance once the main antenna is destroyed. He has recently confirmed that it carries a lifetime warranty. But what about the fishing rod ! Apart from that I'd also like to know if its advisable for me to carry an emergency VHF antenna onboard !
