Write a book with the community and earn money

Submitted by lakemen on Mon, 03/27/2006 - 09:42

Hi to all members,

1+1 =11 and 1+1+1=111 :), we will work using the same principle for our community books.

We will write the books together and share the revenue among writers. This will help us develop some of the very useful books for the Insurance community.

Note: See other ways of earning money with communities.

What are the topics involved in writing a book? Can it be any topic as long as it talks about insurance? The idea of Rick is good. Insurance marketing can be a valuable book that can really help other community members. And another thing, how can we earn from it? Do we sell it? And if we do, for how much?

Yes, it can be any topic that is related to the field of Insurance.

And another thing, how can we earn from it?

This should answer your query.

Feel free to ask, if you have any other doubts.

Hi Gautam!

I've heard since my childhood that India is a wonderful land with a lot of scope for the insurance market, owing to its huge population. Your expertise would be of help to us once you'd be updated through your global market research & studies. I'm sure your contributions would surely be appreciated at the forums!

I like to write but can only write about my own experience as a consumer, is there room for this type of experience. I am going to visit the advised link and see what topics are already written about and what is available. This may be something that I would be interested in doing. I did write on one type of insurance that I think is becoming more popular. I wanted to see if it was there first. Went there and it is written about, a pretty good article on pet insurance.

i would also like to be a contributer to a book as i can advise consumers on what to watch for to stop the fraud being committed by the restoration companies that are doing the work. for example, you the homeowner, are entitled to have a copy of the contract for the work that is to be done in your home. my experience with this aspect is the homeowner needs to ask for a copy as you will not be offered a copy by no one. having a copy of the contract will insure that you are getting what was quoted to you as some claims are quite large and you, the homeowner may forget all that was supposed to be repaired and replaced. example at one residence i started to paint baseboard and door frames. the homeowner approached and asked me why i was painting them as he was under the impression that they were being replaced. i stated my work order said to paint them. i then started to paint the doors and again was approached by the homeowner who stated that he thought the doors were being replaced. at that time i asked him if he had a copy of the contract and he replied no. i advised him he needed to have a copy. he was supplied with a copy of the contract and sure enough it stated that all the doors, frames and base were to be replaced. do u have to be a brain surgeon to see what the bigger picture is here. 95% of homeowners do not realize that they are entitled to a copy of that contract. so i do believe i could contribute to some extent on a book.

i dont know much on insurance only my experiance in which i journely get the shaft. i have always carried insurance on cars and fire insurance on property. i know i pay all the time for something. would i be of any help?

Posted: 21 Jan 2008 07:18 Post Subject: You're valuable!!

i have always carried insurance on cars and fire insurance on property.

Keep visiting the ampminsure forums regularly (whenever you have some time to venture into the unknowns of the global insurance industry). Since you have been maintaining the fire & car insurances, hence your knowledge about those two branches ought to be better than the novices. Under the circumstances, you'd probably come to great help for all who post at the "Getting started" or "The Pub" forums. At the same time interacting with the people out there would surely enhance your knowledge at other insurance coverages.
All the very best!
