This is the kind of benefit that companies such as AFLAC specialize in providing through employers (because the premiums are deducted from employee paychecks and sent as a batch to the insurance company). But you can get individual coverage from them as well.
Many employers offer short-term disability insurance (up to two years of coverage) as optional benefits. Check with your employer's HR dept to see if such is available to you. If not, contact a company like AFLAC for information.
