Even with insurance, I have to say that there is no way at 30.00 a pop, plus instituion fees iff necessary that I can begin to afford therapy for my high special needs daughter.
But even with therapy her problems won't be solved, it has made no improvement in the past, why should it now.
Ever since we moved there has been some major regressions in her, and its sort of understandable with her special needs.....but....
There is no way we can afford it with her..not to start with 4 sessions a month, she can't even describe her feelings outside of basic I'm sad, or crying, she can't say why she is feeling that way.
The only way she knows to vent her frustrations is to turn and take her aggression out on me.
I'm not sure where you are located, but check into your local Mental Health organization.
Here, they offer no-or little cost for Drs., meds, etc.
Also, if your daughter is not on disabily of some type, you may want to check into that. Your primary care physician can get you started on which direction to go..
I have a son that is mentally and emotionally disabled, and receives help..KAren

Does she receive SSI? With her problems she should qualify for Medical Assistance and or Social Security Disability. Have you ever looked into this for her. Believe me, I work in medical records for Mental Health facility and I've seen many a child get Social Security Disability for ADD/ADHD. So if you haven't looked into this,it might be a good thing to do.
