This is not major medical insurance, and what they do cover is pretty much next to nothing. I know because I've been on this plan for a few months. Some doctors offices haven't even heard of the plan. Every person that I talk to (from the initial sale to customer service now) has a different explanation of what they are and what they cover. A surgery, for example, covers 80% of what Medicare would pay, or so they tell me now. Another thing that is weird is that my insurance salesperson said that there would be 10/20/30/40 prescription plan, and it's really far from it. I'm spending $300 for prescription medications a month rather than the $40ish I used to spend. Nothing seems to follow the 10/20/30/40 plan. And to make things more confusing, the bills processing center is a totally different agency. I was asked by this agency for my certificate of coverage, even though I faxed it to Cinergy as required. Unless you have several hours a week to devote to trying to figure out insurances, I wouldn't do it. I've been trying to get out of this since about when I got in.

Please do not choose this insurance. You will have no copay for hospital bills because you will be paying the entire bill. This is not health insurance but rather a discount plan.
Daily In-Hospital Confinement Benefit:
Pays the first $1,000 per day of hospitalization for up to 30 days per year if you are admitted to a hospital as a patient due to a covered illness or accident.
**Means after $1000/day you will owe the entire charge. Trust me you hit 1000/day FAST in a hospital facility.

Emergency Room / Urgent Care Visits:
Pays the first $100 per visit for emergency care for a covered illness or accident for one visit per year.
*After they pay $100 towards ER/UC you will over every penny after that for an ENTIRE YEAR!

Pays the first $100 per visit towards physician services when the insured person seeks treatment for covered illnesses and accidents for up to five visits per year.
*They will pay 500/year then you will again owe every penny.

With the plans being expensive...the benefits do not match the cost of this plan. I think they are taking advantage of people.

I would stay away from Cinergy. I had an accident claim with them that they have denied. My premiums were up to date and they still refused to pay my claim. I just got the letter from the hospital today stating the denial.

I slipped on a step, fell down the stairs and was knocked unconscious;
I was rushed via ambulance to the hospital and had staples put in my head.

I was supposed to have a payout of 5,000 for the accident insurance. I received a letter today from the hospital telling me they denied the claim.

I have to get an attorney now in the hope of getting this resolved.

I am looking into this company for insurance fraud. Please let me know if you are still interested in this company and willing to talk about it.

They don't pay their bills. They seem to have an excuse for everything. It seems that nothing is covered other than taking your money. I've payed them over $4000 and they payed 1 of 3 doctor visits. All 3 were less than the $100 max. :x
