Investigation restrictions

by spyingeye007 » Sat Mar 01, 2008 02:23 am

I have an important question well at least for me it is important.

can anyone inform me as to whether or not in Europe/UK and the US there are any restrictions placed on Insurance companies to use or not use external Investigators/Loss Adjusters?

Or is it on a quantum or needs basis?

I have a paper due on the 4/3/08 and this was a major question that I didn't realize I had to complete and I have searched the net but can not get an answer I hope I have come to the right place.

Cheers to all

Sure wish I could help you on that one but if you stick around or even keep checking back I'm sure someone can assist you. We have some pretty awesome people around here that know their stuff.

Good morning spyingeye007 and welcome...not sure I'm totally understanding your question...as to the US,

whether or not in Europe/UK and the US there are any restrictions placed on Insurance companies to use or not use external Investigators/Loss Adjusters

An insurance company can (and do) hire at their own cost independent adjusters, special investigators etc, all the time to aid them in the investigation of claims. They are not required to but they certainly can if they want to pay for them. Many companies routinely use independent adjusters for a variety of reasons, mostly because they don't have an adjuster in the area. Please expand on this a little, or I'm just dull and not getting your question.
