What do you mean by 'coverage'...you mean like a benefit because you survived? (congrat by the way)...if you have a cancer policy maybe that is all I could think of, and it's not a benefit for survival, but pays certain things to you...like 'x' amount per hospital stay day etc...please be more specific re: coverage?

My friend..it depends on a number of factors..one such vital factor would be the count of years that has lapsed since you got cured. If you have stayed out of danger for quite some years then may be some of the major players would offer you a survivors' policy. Otherwise you need to stay fit for the next couple of years & prove your health the the insurers. Wish you a good health for the coming years! Palefacedwife

I inquired about any life insurance for the cancer survivors..

Are you saying you want purchase life insurance for a cancer survivor then? If so it will certainly be difficult...most companies require a certain amount of time in remission...however we do see those commericals about ''no health questions''' I don't know much about those companies and would check them out throughly prior to signing on the dotted line...hopefully some agents will come along this thread and provide more information....how long has the cancer been in remission?

Its great your a cancer survivor. Most companies will ask the question on the initial application and once a question is answered "yes" to any major medical history, a further investigation is ordered and subsequent denial of the policy. However, you can purchase a burial type policy from a funeral home that will provide payments towards your final expenses. Just get in contact with your local funeral home they can provide you with that information. Hope this helps or answers your question.

Hi,
Im an agent and congrats on being a survivor.
There are many variables to consider to answer your question.
I primarily do health insurance but also do life. In looking at several underwriting guides this varies greatly form company to company and even between policies within the same company.

To have a term life policy issued standard (best price besides preferred which you have to have almost perfect health) with the companies I represent it ranges from five to ten years in remission. Rated up term policies are more lenient but also more expensive.

Whole life and Universal life seem more liberal to be issued standard but this type of life insurance is more expensive and it still varies greatly. These policies do build cash value over time.

The guaranteed issue life is also out there but they have two factors you need to look at:
1. Low death benefit (usually 10k or under)
2. Many (not all) have a 2 year reduced death benefit of premiums paid plus 10 to 25%

There Is life insurance available out there for you but I would suggest extensive and carefull shopping of several carriers to get the best deal.
