GROUP I EXAM

Anybody recently take or remembering taking the required GROUP I EXAM for when you had to get licensed??

I'm having trouble with this test. It is an easy test when you have studied enough, but the problem I'm having is that the test is compiled of MISC and RANDOM DETAILED questions from the 200 page book that they gave me to study from.

My problem is that I can't absorb it all just by reading a 200 page book. I need interaction with people helping me to learn the material, and visuals such as a dvd or flashcards.

Anybody got any study suggestions for me?

THANKS!!

Ok well I need to finish my reading first so I can come across something that I don't understand because at this point it's not about not understanding something...it's just about being able to know and memorize all the different rules, regulations, policy provisions that go along with each type of insurance....etc....

Let's just throw a topic out there for now..

What's a method or explanation someone could tell me on remembering the differences between HMOs and PPOs...and all the rules, regulations, timelines that go with it..

Cuz my thing is that there is a price/fee for a lot of things, there are rules to who can get this type and in what forms they can get this type and the deadline of DAYS is required to act in order to get this type...etc..etc..etc....Get what I'm saying?

I have a choice of four different insurance plans at work, Highmark PPO and UPMC HMO are always the two that I narrow it down to. I look at the cost of the copays, the deductible and how much paperwork is involved to make my decision. We have another plan that is a healthcare savings plan that I have been tempted by, because you can save up you money for an elective surgery if you don't use it a lot. My husband would love to have the laser eye surgery done. I may take another look at this option a little more closely next year. Do you know anything about this one? If so, please share?

Well I'm still learning about all this stuff. Plus it varies with each state. What state are you in? I'm in Texas.

I HAVE SOME TOPIC QUESTIONS IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO COME BACK AND JOIN THE DISCUSSION AND HELP CLARIFY ANYTHING FOR ME :D

Adjustable Life and Variable Life ---they seem similar to me...are they the same thing?
Commingling and Embezzling also sound the same, but when I re-read the definition for Commingling I saw that it deals with a Fudiciary..if a Fudiciary were mixing money with their personal money...now how does that differ from embezzling?

Also..Credit Life Insurance and Decreasing Term sound pretty alike as well..

So if anyone could clarify any of that up for me that'd be great! Thanks :)

Lindsay,
are you linzy also? If so, good to see that you registered. :D

As far as your life insurance questions there are some pros here that should be along to put much more detail into the discussion soon.
