Hey KizarLuxemburg, I guess our OP is referring to the company called LKQ Corp. They are the largest supplier of after-market parts. They recycled OEM parts and provide these parts to repair light vehicles.

LKQ is nothing but an industrial term denoting LIKE, KIND & QUALITY which signifies used-OEM auto body parts. LKQ parts do have all qualities of a brand new car-body parts, only that they have been re-assembled from an already in-use vehicle by an expert. It is mandatory that such parts should not be older than the original car body & are likely to offer you a handsome savings worth 70%.

If they are disputing you would need to look to the policy to see what it calls for and that would be binding. The only way it would not be binding is if a part was used depreciated the vehicle in any way and that would be hard to prove. The policy language is usually set that it leaves no room for negotiation in most cases.

I'm _guessing_ you meant to say that the carrier is only considering repairing your vehicle with LKQ (Like, Kind, Quality) parts and not OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) parts? Your "reman par" makes double little sense as it does not mean anything and if it's short for "remanufactured parts", these are the same thing as LKQ. LKQ parts are basically salvage parts in good condition. Or in order words. Good used parts... just like were on your vehicle prior to the accident.

Not exactly but almost...a 'remanufactured part' is a used oem part that has actually been remanufactured by a third party vendor, such as a bumper cover, that has been on a vehicle with 'some' damage and repaired (generally) primed and ready to go..same with a 'reman' engine, headlamps, etc...a used part is just that a used part that is (generally) on a wrecked car in a salvage yard...the part is removed from the vehicle and sold as is...no remanufactoring takes place....I see absolutely no problem with either of these parts, unless you have a brand new vehicle with less than say 12-15k on it...
