This depends on the area some what, and on the vehicle an older vehicle wouldn't hurt as bad as a newer one..In my part of the world a salvage title or 'prior' salvage title can reduce a vehicles value anywhere from 25-45% ....the best way to find out is to call a couple of 'good' used car dealers and ask them, if you had this vehicle what would you sell it for with a salvaged title and with a clean one. _________________ Have you been helped by a poster? There is such a thing as 'washing' a title meaning (it's illegal by the way) a car is run thru a few states some how and comes out clean...but supposedly there have been safe gaurds put in place to stop this practice...Once a salvage title always a salvage title, now it might get changed to ''former salvage title'' in some states, but that would still provide ample warning to a prospective buyer... _________________ Have you been helped by a poster? That does sound illegal but I am sure it happens, like with the flood vehicles and such. Hopefully places like car fax and other pages like that you can look up your car or potential care by vin number and get the correct information. Do you run into this very often?
