Almost all insurance company preset some limit on the contents of a boat; this might include your fishing equipments too. Go through the policy and review it for the limits of coverage. If the coverage is to buy separately ask for the cost of additional coverages to protect the fishing equipments.

Fishing equipment coverage is an optional coverage in general. And you need to purchase it separately. This coverage pays for the damage or loss of the fishing equipments while on board on an insured boat. It offers the coverage amount along with the deductible for each loss.
For further details you can ask your agent.

Hope this will help.

I wanna add some more...

Fishing and sports equipment attached to the boat, such as a fish finder or down rigger, would be covered as part of the watercraft. Equipment like fishing poles, water skis are considered as personal effects and have a coverage limit of $250 on the Mariner Policy.
