Senior Healthcare Consultants/RJR Insurance's business practices are currently being investigated.



Promises Made-Promises Broken



This thread is dedicated to the discussion of SHC's business practices, agent and management [mis]conduct. Representations made to new agents about leads, marketing, and commissions, management structure, travel requirements, and agent impound / equity / hold-back accounts.

This is, by no means, a place to slander. libel, or defame SHC. Any such posts will be eliminated. My purpose is to gather information from as many sources as possible and use this to "help" that company with their future business practices/agent relations.

I am hopeful this can be done without litigation and the media attention a class action lawsuit would surely generate.

Thank you to all of you who are posting the injustice of this company here to help others from being victims. I had an interview by phone with Fritz and I was so excited about this opportunity. Now having read the many complaints on this blog, I will not be a victim. Thanks, thanks, thanks to all of you for the warning!!!

I found the below press release on Lexicon today. They ARE actually major distribution partners with Great American and AFG. And ground floor! That's it, I'm convinced b/t this and their A+ rating with the BBB that there is NO WAY these guys are a scam. Check it out for yourself... I found it on Yahoo Finance. I'm going to see if I can get an interview for a position with them, sick of waiting in doubt. Sorry for some of the posts I made last month when I thought they were not for real. My bad.

Tiffany2011 it is a scam and you know it, if you do not work for them but are thinking about it and do join, you will be bitterly disappointed, I can assure you on that point.

I love how anyone saying anything positive in any way is a scam or fake; sounds very realistic to me. For the record, I am neither a scam nor a fake but I do know a little about this company as I work for them. I will tell you that anyone with a brain that can listen will know that what you are being told is the truth, and everything is told to you upfront.
I will say that this is not for everyone but I can also say that for the right person this opportunity is off the hook. Lexicon has never said one thing that they did not fulfill in full, the support and training is also unbelievable and I am making more than i have made in my life.
If you look at this and this is not for you then great, but there is more lies on here from those calling everyone fake and scams then I could begin to list. Make up your own mind.

Ask yourself this: Why would a company need to change its name from Senior Healthcare Consultants (2009) to Apex-Elite (2010) to Lexicon Senior Healthcare (2011)? That indicates some serious issues with stability and reputation.

Ask yourself this too: What would motivate an agent of SHC/Apex-Elite/Lexicon to spam rebuttals to legitimate ethics and fair practice complaints? Most insurance agents I know hate additional competition in their market. Would an SHC/AE/Lexicon foot soldier really be that motivated to try to tell prospective agents, "Come on in, the water's fine?" Of course not. The only logical explanation is that Lexicon management is making up stories out of thin air for damage control.

Speaking of damage control, anyone touting Ripoff Reports' seal of approval is highly suspect, because the guy who runs it is as much of a fraud as the guys who run Lexicon. Take a moment and Google Ed Magedson, unless you really want to trust that guy to put the blessing on your next career choice.

The big issue here isn't that some people failed in insurance. That happens all the time - the industry, and any full commission job for that matter, has a lot of turnover. But a separation should be made between 'a legitimate general agency' and 'an MLM scam using insurance as window dressing'. That's what people miss when they sign up for these clowns, and they don't get it until they've lost thousands. And that's why former agents, even ones from two or three or four years ago, are still outraged at this company and its schtick - a schtick that still seems to be duping some unwary people.

I agree with 'JH' - surely Lexicon management - only on one thing. Make up your own mind. But at least get all sides of the story before you do that.

With 11,000 + a day coming into this market the water is fine, and will be for the next 30 years.

Just check it out for yourself, and decide on your own. It is not for everyone, as stated above but it is for some, like me, and I have never been happier. And if being a trainer makes me "management", I was just promoted to that position, then I guess that I am "management".

I am very serious when I say that if you don’t like what you see don’t consider it because if you can’t give any new position 100% you are going to fail, regardless of what you are doing. But if you do like what you are seeing and hearing and making your mind up on your own, then give it all you have and once up and running this gets so easy. I am truly having a blast and loving life.

Regardless of what you decide, good luck to everyone out there!

Hey "JH AZ" - cut the bullcrap. You're typing at a guy who held your position under Lexicon Senior Healthcare when it was operating as SHC. It's the same churn and burn agency sending desperate, impoverished agents all the way out to the rubes in West Bumdiddle, run by the same clown doing the same things to seniors that got him sanctioned by the Texas Department of Insurance a few years ago. Do yourself a favor and put down the Kool-Aid long enough to read this (unless you are in fact Lexicon Senior Healthcare senior management, in which case, you'll be hearing from my lawyers soon).

Ready? Great.

You're fooling no one here. No one. Anyone outside your brutal, cultish scam you people call a legitimate business (and it is not) sees your glassy-eyed preaching for what it is: worthless shilling. I thank God I finally had the presence of mind to actually step outside myself and see what it was I was doing.

Remember being taught to close a Medicare Supplement five, ten, 25 times in front of an elderly senior? Remember being told by your trainer that you don't leave until you close? Remember being berated by your phone coach if you didn't? That's not sales. That's scaring seniors and then harassing them into signing your paper. Pull your head out of your tailpipe and look at yourself - REALLY LOOK at that presentation at the kitchen table as you were trained. Would you treat your mother or grandmother that way?

Remember how you weren't allowed to speak to anyone else in your recruiting class in Dallas? Again, step outside yourself. Why in the world do you think you wouldn't be allowed to compare notes? Do you think any other agency in this country is afraid of one of their victims - er, base consultants - catching on and warning others about the scam?

Don't you think Lexicon Senior Healthcare would be a bigger company by now if this was such a successful, groundbreaking way to produce insurance contracts? Don't you think they would be doing better than ink-jet printed business cards and a GoDaddy site? Don't you think you're worth more than that, especially if you're one of the "best of the best" sales agents in the country making a fantastic living?

Have you ever checked what street commission is for other carriers and compared it to the pittance you're getting from Lexicon Senior Healthcare?

Are you aware of the regulatory issues your company has faced in the past? Are you aware of the issues it is now facing?

Let that last sentence sink in for a second.

Now I'm going to give you some free advice, although remember, I'm years and miles removed from the shenanigans at this company and technically don't have a dog in the fight. (In other words, for the folks keeping score at home, I am not, nor am I representing myself as, a person with legal, regulatory or prosecutorial authority in the State of Texas. Because I'm not.)

If I were you - and I'm not, of course, even though I've had the same title at the same company - I think I might dump that Kool-Aid in the sink and give the Compliance Division of the Texas Department of Insurance a phone call, referring to case number 59646. If I were choosing sides here, and I was forced to choose between the full regulatory and prosecuting powers of the State of Texas on one hand and some two-bit scammer and a couple of his cronies on the other, I think I might want to be on the side of justice. I might just be tempted to cooperate fully with the authorities. I might even also ignore any requests or demands from Lexicon senior management to return or destroy incriminating correspondence or sales materials.

But that's just me. You go right ahead and "decide on your own".

Everyone keeping score here? Richard P. Dale Jr.'s changed the name of his scam operation again. It's now Buffett Senior Healthcare. We can now correctly call his organization BS Healthcare! This is progress - at least on the 'truth in labeling' front.

It doesn't look like much else has changed. Same senior management, same churn and burn agency, same trouble with insurance regulators. Can the mods change the title of this heading to include Buffett Senior Healthcare please? I suspect the only reason for the name changes every year is because Dale is trying to outrun the well deserved negative publicity and hook more unsuspecting agents. No one should let him get away with it.
