Senior Healthcare Consultants/RJR Insurance

Senior Healthcare Consultants/RJR Insurance's business practices are currently being investigated.

Promises Made-Promises Broken

This thread is dedicated to the discussion of SHC's business practices, agent and management [mis]conduct. Representations made to new agents about leads, marketing, and commissions, management structure, travel requirements, and agent impound / equity / hold-back accounts.

This is, by no means, a place to slander. libel, or defame SHC. Any such posts will be eliminated. My purpose is to gather information from as many sources as possible and use this to "help" that company with their future business practices/agent relations.

I am hopeful this can be done without litigation and the media attention a class action lawsuit would surely generate.

Twitch - I have all correspondence from SHC for the past 3 1/2 years!! I have not deleted anything!!! I only stayed with them since I have hundreds of seniors that I put in policies and the RENEWALS that I'm suppose to generate from them!! Here is the CONTRACT I signed from the FREE LEAD DIVISION!! Please tell me where in this contract that I have to be on STAFF or do any NEW BUSINESS to get my RENEWALS only talks about COMMISSIONS from NEW BUSINESS????

RJR Lead Division Addendum to Standard Agent Agreement
Former SHC Preset Appointment Division 1st Year Consultants Transferring to SHC Lead Division
This RJR Addendum to the standard Agent Agreement is entered into between RICHARD P. DALE, JR., MASTER GENERAL AGENT hereinafter referred to as the "Master General Agent" and __Tamara______ herein after referred to as "Agent" to mean former SHC Preset Appointment Division 1st Year Consultants requesting transfer to SHC Lead Division.

In order for Agent to retain his/her renewal income generated in previous divisions ( PRESET MA forME - I left 11/07) for which Agent was affiliated under Master General Agent, Agent must maintain a minimum of 20 leads called upon and reported on the SHCAgents.com database per month. These called upon leads must be able to be verified by Master General Agent’s management by Agent inputting all pertinent reporting data into the SHCAgents.com reporting system of Master General Agent on all 20 leads given to Agent. Agent is advised that reported sales calls on leads will be audited by Master General Agent to confirm validity. Failure to maintain this requirement will result in Agent losing that month’s payment of 1st year and/or 2nd year+ renewals, as Agent will be considered by the system as no longer active on the RJR/SHC sales staff.

Agent understands that he/she must issue a minimum of 8 new business insurance applications in order to receive one month of last outstanding 1st year (Month 1 – 12) preset appointment division renewals.( I will lose my MA renewals written prior to 11.07 in preset division- I understand that ) Eligible insurance products are to include Medicare Supplement, Medicare Advantage, Final Expense, Long Term Care, Annuities, and Cancer plans. The only Senior Healthcare Partners (not insurance) eligible are the $499.00 and $599.00 Lifetime SHP payment mode plans. You do still have some money being held, Tammy, but we will put you on SHP

Let me give you some quick advice right now, Tammy. Before you're closed off to the GAFRI site, jump on there and print your business. I hope you've had a good exit strategy and printed or screenshotted your logins and documents from SHC as well. If you haven't and somehow still have access to the SHC site, do that immediately. And by immediately I mean stop reading this post and do it NOW.

You will want to reconcile SHC's stated business with your actual business with GAFRI and any other carrier RIGHT AWAY. Don't take anyone's word at SHC about what did or didn't issue. Let me tell you why I say this: when I finally reconciled my business, I found business that was marked as declined by SHC (and, of course, charged back) but which was actually issued by GAFRI. In fact, the business was still on the books, and may be so yet...yet that allegedly declined business (which of course I was never paid a dime for) was the reason they increased my escrow from 20 percent to 30 percent.

If your access has been withdrawn to the insurers, call them and request new access. They will only allow you to see certain reports once your contract with SHC is terminated, but those reports will be the ones you want. Print everything. EVERYTHING. Especially your book of business.

If you were on electronic deposit, as all of us were, CLOSE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. They will come up with a reason, legitimate or no, to dip their thieving hands in your money even after you have left. You should work with your attorney and send them a letter terminating their authority to debit any account of yours electronically. You are well within your rights as a consumer to do this. Send this certified with return receipt requested and save this documentation as well.

Twitch - I have records of all my seniors that I enrolled in their plans. I know them all personally and have kept a detail micro exel sheet of all their names and when issued. Plus I have all their policies on file at home.

I also have printed out all my information from SHC website along time ago knowing the RECORD they have of not paying me!!! I have all the proof of everything to document the HARDSHIP and EMOTIONAL distress this company has put me through in the past 3 1/2 years.

I only stayed with them because of my seniors BUT all my seniors know that they are behind in paying my renewals.

One of them, HE'S A BIG OIL MAN, in my community is ready to contact some BIG POLITICIANS in IL to stop them from having any consultants sell insurance in IL. He is furious as they claim they are the INSURANCE company when they are not and then they represent themselves as the ones to contact when it's ME the consultant that sold them the policy and GAFRI the one they pay their premium too!!!!

I just want my renewals from the FREE LEAD DIVISION paid monthly as long as they are on the books. Then my escrow money that has matured - no longer advance commissions - released!!! They can release the rest when it matures monthly. Plus the last policy that I had issue was 4/1/2010 so the 90 day period is past!!!!

They are person worse NIGHTMARE!!!!!!

That's a good start. I'd really recommend that you go to the GAFRI website anyway and print your actual book of business though. Take a close look at the declines from SHC and check each one against the actual issue record from GAFRI.

You are prohibited in your agent contract from talking to any of your clients for some time after separation. You may want to consult with your attorney about the implications of this. I also have reason to believe SHC will try to feed your current clients back into their lead hopper in order to roll your business and get the renewals out of your hands. They will generally try to send a newer person in the preset division to do this, as the new agent's longevity there is usually measured in days or weeks - when the agent quits or is forced out, they have all of your former client's renewal (and possibly even commission) free and clear.

I'd still recommend closing your bank account. If you are expecting renewals from SHC - well, good luck with that, but they can just as well send you a paper check for the balance. By all means, cut off their access to your account. This goes for anyone else out there who is leaving or has just left SHC.

Good luck, Tammy. Again, sorry you've been hurt so badly by these people.

Posted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 06:09 pm Post Subject: My Seniors in GAFRI

I can tell you if SHC tries to approach my seniors on rolling my business from the FREE LEAD DIVISON - they are doing HARM or CREATING RISK for my seniors. As all of them have the PLAN J with LOYAL. This plan is no longer available and PLAN F is the best which has less benefits!!!

Plus most of my seniors are personal contacts that have called me and know that they need to contact every so often just in case I did leave SHC which have now!!!! They know whenever they get a letter or anything from SHC to contact me!!!

It's funny when they do try to contact them as it shows my seniors what kind of JOKE they are!!!!!

Posted: Thu Jul 08, 2010 06:28 pm Post Subject:

Actually, taking them from an old Plan J to a new Plan F often makes a good deal of sense as long as the senior can get through underwriting. There never was a great deal of difference between Plan J and Plan F, and the newer Fs are generally lower in premium than their old Plan F counterparts simply because they're a newer book of business and don't have a ton of outstanding claims against them (yet). And remember that "lower benefits, lower premiums" is an entirely valid reason for Medicare Supplement replacement.

So, yeah, they're coming after your people. I was encouraged MANY times to roll existing SHC business when I was an agent. Most times I didn't even know the person I had enrolled was a current SHC client until the terminated policy's agent called me angrily...and I just told him "well, it was on my preset lead sheet!" Which it was.

It sounds like you have a great rapport with your clients. I truly hope they call you and warn you if and when the twisting shenanigans start.

Totally agree on the plan F is full coverage but right now their Plan J with Loyal is at a very competitve rate and locked in for one year. If after one year the premiums sky rocket and a company that offers the plan F is much more affordable with good finicial stability, then I would encourage the change. But for right now there is no reason for any switching.

I thank you for all your suggestions, my hopes are no one else falls in this trap. And that SHC will finally wake up and smell the coffee that what their doing is not right and needs to be fixed immediatley.

Just texted Mr Douglas to see if He could get Mr Corder to finally post my renewals and my escrow release. Here is his response - Brian

Mr Douglas says it's your responsibilty  on the money areas, please get this handle - asap - also my seniors will be well taken care of by me as their consultant. They don't know any of you  from Texas and your not the insurance company.  Tammy

Below is rob - text message -

Work through Brian Tammy, you know this is not my area within the company.

Please do not email or text me again unless it is client related.  Even though you say they don't want to know about us, we still have an obligation to them to ensure they are well cared for.  That responsibility we take very seriously so if you have a question or need assistance there I will assist, if not then please do not contact me as I have many sales related duties that require my attention.

Thank you!
