Senior Healthcare Consultants/RJR Insurance

Senior Healthcare Consultants/RJR Insurance's business practices are currently being investigated.

Promises Made-Promises Broken

This thread is dedicated to the discussion of SHC's business practices, agent and management [mis]conduct. Representations made to new agents about leads, marketing, and commissions, management structure, travel requirements, and agent impound / equity / hold-back accounts.

This is, by no means, a place to slander. libel, or defame SHC. Any such posts will be eliminated. My purpose is to gather information from as many sources as possible and use this to "help" that company with their future business practices/agent relations.

I am hopeful this can be done without litigation and the media attention a class action lawsuit would surely generate.

I have read so many posts on this organization and having worked there I can only sadly agree with so many of these shared experiences. SHC was an unfair, brutal, dehumanizing experience. I worked extremely hard and although I sold many polices (even earning bonus points, gas/training reimbursements) I still ended up in debt with empty pockets. At this writing I believe that rather than fight anymore, they are switching their name to "Apex-Elite". I know this because I was contacted by this "new" company from SHC's main number. I understand desperation but a job like this will never alleviate that problem....only make it worse.

Please anyone reading these blogs, take careful consideration before joining SHC / RJR Inaurance - AKA - Apex Elite. The red flags are there: 1 - if they are the leader in the business - SHC - we do they currently have ZERO job openings on Careerbuilder and Monster.

2- Plus about a week ago the Apex Elite - had on their homepage website- Gafri. If your thinking of joining Apex - ask who their carriers are for which you will be appointed with to sell insurance.

3- Ask who is the upper management for Apex - Elite?? I would bet it's one of the abbreviated names from SHC website. I bet the training is also done at Dallas.

4- does Apex have the set up - start up fee?? SHC had to be making a killing on that, on top of all the commissions and renewals they haven't paid out.

Apex - Elite is just a new way to bring in new innocent prey to take their money and rob them blind. And now they have their attorney Mr Ray helping with the fraud of system.

SHC saying is GROW WEALTHY W our FUTURE!! It's their future not yours!! Run! Run! Run!

FYI - When getting appointed w insurance companies on your own - always request for the ADVANCE commissions sheet. Some companies provide it with the general contracting some don't. So be SAFE and always REQUEST it!!

I'm still trying to get to the bottom of Senior Healthcare Consultants' relationship with Apex-Elite. Their website wording certainly seems SHC-ish as does the pattern of bombing Careerbuilder with ads. They might want to find a new website host though...all those smug claims about being an industry leader are somewhat undercut by the revelation that it's a GoDaddy site.

LOL...seriously? A GoDaddy site is the best you could do, guys??

Perhaps less time should be spent "investigating" and more time should be spent writing business. You are in insurance, not the CIA.

Posted: Wed Oct 06, 2010 04:10 pm Post Subject:

Or perhaps not. Although I am, as you say, in insurance, to me, that means a lot more to me than "I sell policies."

I feel my license also means I have an inherent responsibility to the public. The public relies on insurance producers to understand products and convey that information without deception or fraud. I am sure you would agree that if someone close to you was the victim of fraud or market misconduct, you would want them stopped. And if I know where the fire is, where it's moved to and how dangerous it is, you're damned right I'm pulling the fire alarm and you'd better believe I am going to warn everyone, whether I know them or not, not to go in the burning building.

Because, as you well know, I've been burned by Senior Healthcare Consultants. I have been a personal witness to how you sweet-talk desperate prospects, latch on and bleed them out until the last cent is left. I have been in the meetings where agents were told to flat-out lie to seniors regarding Medicare products. I still beat myself up for taking your lies at face value instead of immediately fact-checking for myself as I should have.

Whatever you call yourself - Senior Healthcare Consultants, RJR Insurance Services, Apex-Elite - in my opinion, you are a hazard both to agents and the public and I assure you I will not rest until you are held accountable for your wrongs. For THAT is my true business - taking care of the public with the knowledge I have gained in my profession, whether I get paid for it or not.

One of these days, you people might finally understand that insurance is not ultimately about dollars and cents. It's about taking care of the people around you. If that's your focus, then everything else follows, including getting paid for a job well done. If that's not your focus, you might do well to find another industry.

People have a right to know the practices that SHC / RJR Insurance and Apex Elite operate with their consultants. There is too many people that have lost thousands of dollars due to their business tactics. There is too many companies out their to work for who don't charge up front fees to join and don't take your commissions. This was a HUGE mistake in my career and I personally believe others need to be educated on both good and bad experiences with Any company. My was BAD and wish I hadn't even heard the name SHC CONsULTANT COmPANY / RJR Insurance.

Thanks so much to everyone for the information regarding SHC! I am interviewing for a position with Apex Elite and they sound like the same company. Does anyone have information on this?

Posted: Fri Nov 05, 2010 07:51 pm Post Subject: oops

Sorry, I was so tired from reading pages of negative information regarding SHC that I missed the recent posts detailing the connection between SHC and Apex Elite.

I may go through the interview process and ask some very specific questions. I will let you know what response I get.

Thanks again!

Is fritz the interviewer? Some key people to look for Mr Dale, Rob Douglas, Brian Corder, Glenn Virga, David Croom, Joe Brown, Stefan King, Rich VanDyke, Michelle Chantilli, Summer - they all are from SHC / RJR who no longer is posting job openings when they claim they are leaders in the industry. They also have done some major changes to their testimoninals on the site. The last thing many were posting was the start up fee to join the company. If they have a product called Senior Healthcare Partners. Please be careful to anyone wishing to proceed w Apex Elite.
