Hi! I'm an Aflac policy holder and I want to quit. Is that an easy thing to do? Can somebody show me how to? Thanks! :)

I am a new aflac associate and so far the experience has been very positive. I have even been able to help policy holders (who I did not sell) recover money from claims that were either filed incorrectly or not at all. AFLAC paid them very promptly (within 7 days). I have learned that AFLAC does not look for loopholes to keep people from receiving money. They do however pay according to the benefit coverage as outlined in the coverage. If AFLAC does not pay a claim, it is because the policy coverage did not cover that specific issue.

I am still learning about AFLAC products and about the insurance business. So, this post may sound naive but it is nonetheless very sincere.

Goodnatured:

Has anyone told you that it is possible to have an AFLAC policy without it being a payroll deduction? I would think by now someone has let you know this, but just in case, I wanted to make sure you knew about this. In fact, the policy you get is called a "direct" policy and is a bit more for the premium versus the payroll deduction premium.

Hi tryingtohelp, welcome to the community. I'm sure that your participation will help the members to clear up their confusions regarding AFLAC. Many a times our decisions and opinions are based on prejudices, information that we get from friends and families.

Also, don't stop yourself from participating in the other discussions, we're always in dearth need of knowledgeable people in this community.

trying to help, yes I did know that you could pick the AFLAC coverage on your own without company/job involvement. They are one of the vendors that attend our job fairs every year.

It was an awesome insurance, we really like it, it covered us when needed and move very quickly on any claims that we had filed.

Good natured what are these job fairs you are speaking about? Do they have them on a regular basis? Also are they open to the public? It seems like you guys have a lot of different vendors. Do you alos have comapnies like aflac present at these job fairs?

We have job and information fairs, companies like Aflac and other insurance come and present their products as well as any job openings that they would have with their company. It is pretty good, they will sit down with you and discuss your needs and make sure that you have everything in place that fits your particular situation.

It is open to every one, we bust our butts starting in about January and then hold the event around April. We have about 500 or so people show up with about 70 vendors, pretty big deal. It is a long day, but a good day.

The insurance companies that show up are not pushy, people come their looking for the product so they usually end up with a few customers that sign with them or at least take their contact information and hook up with them later.

We also have an event that is strictly for seniors, it is alot different than then this one. But is still highly attended.

Well friends, it seems that where some have great experience with Aflac, the others haven't. IMO it is difficult to know whether or not an insurance company is good till the date you file a claim with it.

Goodnatured, I'd say that you were lucky to get your claims paid by Aflac, because I personally had somewhat a bitter experience with them. I applied for their short term disability plan through my employment. That time I was informed that I'm entitled to receive coverage for pregnancy. However, when I actually got pregnant and applied for the coverage I was turned down since my policy wasn't enough old to offer the coverage.

With Aflac you have to pay premium for ten months before you can turn a claim on, otherwise, you end up with no coverage at the time of need. So, be careful if you're considering Aflac insurance. I personally wouldn't recommend them.

Yes, we had a good experience with them. We only used it that one time when the dog decided to bite my husband bad enough that it required hospitalization.

I don't know if time of policy was an eligibility, could have been though because he had the insurance a long time before using it. That clause may have been there and he met the criteria. Who knows.

sorry to hear that you had a bad experience.

My hubby carried Afflac for a while but after he got this mining job we could see no reason to carry so many insurances when he had great coverage through work. Not only that one time he was injured at his old job and when he took the paper to the Doctor to fill out he said they already filed one with the insurance company and that he could not collect on both. We told him it was explained to us differently but he still refused. Called Afflac and told them and basically got the same thing so we dropped them.

So, was it easy to quit Aflac, since it was the query posted by the OP? Firey, have you faced any hardship in quitting them? or was it an easy process? were the reps co-operative?
