Hi!

I am trying to get more opinions regarding websites that sell health insurance. So far, I found ehealth.com, anyhealthinsurance.com and vimo.com

Has anybody bought from those places? any recommendations?

Thank you!

Hello Mike, I'm kinda orthodox about purchasing policies online, and would prefer visiting an agent's office before deciding on purchasing coverage. I've experienced that the online quotes that you may receive after submitting all your details on the site are likely to differ when the actual paper is to get signed. This is mainly due to the fact that the underwriters while writing the policy personally take many other factors into account which the automatic system may miss out. Hence, just take some time out of your busy schedule and visit the nearest health agent in your area.

The advantage that online insurance sites offer is that you can compare the rates of the different plans available to suit your needs. However, I agree with Jeorge that you should consult an agent/broker before purchasing the final plan.

Another concern with the online companies is their authenticity. Recently, many online companies have cropped-up and most of these are not genuine. Many of these sites only forward the leads to the insurance agents who will eventually contact you to close the deal.

Purchasing online policies may require the same amount of paper work as buying the coverage from the agent. However, the sites have facilitated the search of coverage for the small business. You can check with the

Usinsuranceonline.com

And, ehealthinsurance.com

Hope it helps.

The purpose of most those sites is to generate leads for insurance agents. I know because I buy lots of them. If you do not want to be called by a bunch of agents, I have a couple of suggestions:

Find a local agent who can assist you.

Good luck.

Well, 'Hello" CAHORN. I am looking for Health Insurance that has good coverage, for my 16 year old AND something I can afford. I'm a single mom, and (as you can imagine), money can be tight sometimes. I'll E-mail when I get a chance. Thanks.

sd...I hope you are doing well. We spoke last year.

I'm sure Cathy will explain to you that what she is offering is NOT insurance. And I'm sure she'll put that in writing as well.

Actually what I am offering is actually great health insurance. Its the health insurance I use for my entire family and I would recommend it to any of my family members. I'm not here to get into any tiffs with another health insurance company, i'm just here to help out anyone that I possibly can. And im pretty sure im not going to be putting that in writing!!

Thankyou

Cathy

"great health insurance"?

Why does the Ameriplan official website state this:

"AmeriPlan Health® benefit programs are not insurance, nor are they an alternative to or substitution for insurance coverage"

There are many online websites that offer membership in a PPO Network of Doctors and Hospitals. This is NOT Health Insurance rather it is like joining Price Club. You are able to access the Network Doctors and Hospitals at their reduced fees instead of paying Retail prices. Quite amazing . . . people without Health Insurance pay much more for the same service as people with Health Insurance.

Cathy, don't get so defensive. Ameriplan is what it is, and is a good option for the right client. I have a couple of very similar products in my portfolio for those who are in between major medical insurances or that cannot get a major med because of health conditions. It has become a negligible option in my state since they put in Risk pool health insurance last month but many states do not yet have this option.

Hello..OHIO HEALTH. Yep..I remember talking. How ya doing? ..Holidays good? I've been looking into one of those 'Discount Health' items myself. Just the price of having 'regular' Insurance is getting a bit high. Some of the 'discount' ones seem pretty good, however.......from what I've read, anyway.

That is until you find out you have cancer, have a heart attack, etc. etc. Then you will be in trouble.

Hey, DGOLDENZ. I've just been 'scanning' the 'Health Discount' stuff. I REALLY don't know what all it DOES cover..or..shall I say DOESN'T cover. Are their any that are 'better' ( lack of a better word) than other ones? Any suggestions?

You health insurance agents are so desperate to sell a policy -I would not put anything past any of you.
