Guys..I believe its time for us to understand that these vision & dental cards are actually medical cards which are not by any means any form of insurance coverage. They are never gonna meet your medical claims. Their sole job is to try & get you discounted rates through your health care providers. Remember the following points-

* In return for all these you'd need to pay a monthly fees.
* You're not entitled to these benefits if you're not paying for the full health care service.
* It is not supportive towards costly medical surgeries & hospital cares.
Now think more before you take decision!

Dental and vision plans do tend to be discount plans and not insurance. However, I feel that they can offer real value. In fact, although I sell dental insurance, I often recommend that my clients purchase a dental plan through dentalplans.com or some other similar company.

The best deal for those who do not qualify for employer-sponsored coverage, is to purchase a plan that combines dental, vision and health insurance. If you can't get these coverages through an employer and you can't get them as part of your private health insurance plan, a discount plan isn't a bad idea.

Discount plans are a poor substitute for health insurance, but in areas where the expenses are relatively limited such as dental and vision, I think that discount plans have their place.

Dentalplans.com has one really good feature that is important when selecting a discount dental plan...

You can put in the Zipcode of your dentist and see which plans they take.

I refer my clients to them all of the time, and they have a good affiliate program for agents also.

The affiliate program is at dpbrokers.com

The company I am with, AmeriPlan, offers great services for a low monthly cost. Medical, dental and vision are included. We are not an insurance company. Check out my website so you can see for yourself.

My insurance through my husbands job covers a different % on each proceedure done and only up to 1000 a year. A root canal can take all of that. However I have found that with a lot of dental work a Dental Discount Plan called Ameriplan is even cheaper than insurance. They offer dental, vision, prescription, and chiropractor for only $19.95 a month for the entire household. Hope this helps.

I agree. AmeriPlan is a great non-insurance discount program. It saves members a lot of money (I can personally vouch for that) and it's supplement for those who can't get dental insurance or afford it.

Like WAHM4myboys mentioned:

The AmeriPlan Dental Plus™ program gives you immediate savings on Dental, Vision, Prescription, and Chiropractic services.

$14.95 per month for individual / $19.95 per month for household (related or not)

There's no paperwork, no insurance companies to deal with.
Toll-free number to locate independent and chain-participating network providers. No waiting period before you can use the Program. No limits to the number of visits.

Again, AmeriPlan is not insurance but a great alternative for someone looking for a supplement. If you want more information, PM me.

A lot of insurance agents join AmeriPlan because of the supplemental discount programs we offer. They see it as a way to help their clients if they can't afford dental insurance or what have you.
