Hi, my auntie is currently having high blood pressure, and diabetes problems. She been gone through several times operations in hospital before. Now her health is getting better, but then every half a year, she may need to do a body checkup. This all incurred financial burden to her family.

I would like to know since she always need to do medical checkup, is there any insurance plan / medicare to cover this type of case? Since she is not in good health, will insurance company still accepts her insurance policy?

Ya, before i forget, just to tell my auntie is only 45 years old. Thanks for your help.

It's very unlikely that an insurance company would issue a medical expense policy ("health insurance") on her due to her poor health. I'm not aware of any state that requires an insurance company to actually issue a private, individual policy (now, for all you with knowledge, I'm not referring to a state-madated portability policy or COBRA or anything like that here, I'm talking about just applying for an individual policy through an insurance agent/producer).

She likely has state options available to her depending on the state in which she lives. Since she's not yet 65, she could only qualify for Medicare if she meets certain disability mandates. Is she receiving Social Security Disability Income? If so, for how long? That could qualify her for Medicare before age 65. What are state options?

Just about every state has a "medical insurance pool" that is available to those that can't get insured through normal channels- they've been rejected by an insurer and similar situations will normally get you into a state-run insurance pool. Keep in mind those insurance risk-pool plans can get a bit spendy...but at least she'll have coverage. They're usually guaranteed issue policies, so she can typically be assured of coverage.

If you can tell us what state she's in, we can get you some specific information, ok?

InsTeacher, thanks for your details explanantion.

I have to clarify one things, we are not from US, in our country malaysia, we don't have such type of benefits as social security disability funds. She is just housewife, of course now doing nothing as only taking care of house due to his bad health.

In my country, there are some insurance agency company(sort of private agency) who offering medicare plan for anyone who purchase with their plan without need to submit any medical report. I am wondering is this type of insurance is trustable, since they strongly mentioned no medical report to be submit for their plan.

Actually i am looking for those international insurance company that having those health insurance plan for sick person. By the way, this is the first time i heard "medical insurance pool", it sound a good plan to suggest to me, i may search for more information about this.

Thanks for your kindness.
