Just wanted you guys to have a bigger discussion over the Obama reform. Is it going the same way that the President earlier wished to pay for his reform? Things are not quite clear to many of us!

The money has to come through the taxes. I've heard of their proposition to tax those families who're earning more than $2,50,000 a year.

How about the mortgage interest? How about the donations through charities? What if they're cut down!
I don't see the middle class getting spared in the long run.

Once the deduction on mortgage interest gets lowered the worth of our homes would start falling. Again, when there are no tax exemptions for these charitable contributions, the "rich" would contribute lesser. I don't see any "hope" out of such reforms.

The deduction on mortgage interest had such little effect on my taxes this year that's hardly worth owning a house.

As far as how is he gonna pay for it, he's going to take it from folks who work for it and give it to those who don't. That's the socialists way.

It will work the way everything else works in politics. What is proposed will be changed, it will be changed again, then it will be changed 500 more times. It will be changed so many times that no one will really understand what is taking place until after it's done. Even then people won't know. How will be it funded? How is everything else the government does funded? This too will be hidden so well that people won't really know until afterward. I liken it to the President giving us $300 to stimulate the economy and then 6 months later telling us that this was _our_ money they were giving us and now we owe it back.

I really don't see much changing with this. So we're all going to be guaranteed issue states like Massachusetts...big deal. Insurers don't guarantee rates in Massachusetts. Fraud still happens all the time in Massachusetts. What will change, other than rates?

And what effect does making health coverage mandatory really have? Car insurance is mandatory in my state...but people still drive without insurance when they can't afford to pay premiums. You'll still have uninsured people flocking to emergency rooms to treat common colds, and you'll still have people piling up unpaid doctor and hospital bills and daring the collection agencies to come after them for money they never had in the first place.

Real reform would strengthen the DoIs. Let's go after the crooked policyowners who defraud the insurance companies. Let's go after the crooked insurance companies who duck out of playing claims. I guarantee you that if you fined and penalized the crooks and scammers in the industry, you'd have a lot more money to spend on the needy and indigent.

From what I understand about the 'Bill' (and there are alot of parts I DON'T understand about it), our Prez says, "everyone will get Medical Insurance." However...."everyone" will have to pay what the 'Bill' says to pay. That's not fair, at all, when some of us can't afford it now!! "Everyone will have Medical care!!" What about 'our' Senior Citizens? They are ALREADY hurting. The 'Bill' is giving Seniors a re-bate. For what?...to 'put back' into the gov for premiums they couldn't afford in the first place?! If anyone has anything 'positive' they see in this 'Bill', please tell me!!

Fines, fees, and tax increases. And when that doesn't work, back to the monopoly money.
