I've heard that in Arizona they have a state help insurance assistance program. What's there in such a program? I wonder if all the states in US offer such assistance!

Well, SHIP is a very good program for our seniors or those who're close to retirement. It falls within the federal network of Ship situated in every state.

This program doesn't have any affiliation with any agency or carrier. Their volunteers are truly helpful and offer free guidance to your satisfaction.

There generally seems to be a real step up in the level of care provided by volunteer organisations. I've found our local hospice (volunteer) provided a far superior service to private hospitals for my father.

The SHIP counselors are required to pursue a training for 4 days before they obtain the DOI certification. They're always updated with the current Medicare changes. This program offers information that helps the seniors take vital health care decisions.

What does everyone think about this 'Health Care Bill' if it passes? It's really going to cut out alot of the benefits that people need, from their Health Insurance...especially for the Elderly. It just doesn't look 'promising'. However...Obama says it will help pay off the deficit?! Mmm......the 'results' are already hurting our 'people'.

SHIP shows you how to evaluate your health insurance needs and equips you to take the right decisions. Once you'd clarify your doubts regarding Medicare, you'd be able to manage your health care records in a better way. It also guides you about the Medicare claim-filing process and shows you how you could reject an unacceptable settlement offer.

The way our economy is going, it seems like 'we' wouldn't even HAVE that right. People aren't even given the choice NOW reguarding what they want (Health Insurance carriers, etc). This Health Care Bill will just 'limit' decisions even more.

SHIP, a statewide program sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, provides free assistance to Medicare beneficiaries having any problem or queries about their health insurance policies. They have volunteer counselors trained in health insurance coverage and their benefits.
