Some companies charge up to 54% more for customers that have a poor insurance credit score. It happens that young people don't score well. There are a lot of factors in an insurance score that negatively affect young people such as the overall length of your credit history. You can get a copy of your credit report with an insurance score from Choicepoint. There are other companies that provide these scores to insurance companies but none that will sell them to consumers.
