I want to file a serious complaint, should I try the Feds, or is there an oversite agency that governs businesses such as NAA (National Agents Alliance) Who will listen to agents complaints and not be in the pockets of the business entity? _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.
I guess the State's dept. of Insurance takes complains regarding insurance malpractices. You can try out there. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.

You want to lodge a complain against the agent or want to complain against the insurance company as an agent? Please try to elaborate your post so that one can give you proper suggestions. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.

i want to know what my insurance agent means by across the board your home / car insurance rate goes up..
Example ( Homeowners insurance was 424.00 a yr. now it is 583 a year that is a 159.00 dollar increase. Please explain. This means to me that my house payment will go up. On a fix budget. _________________ Register Now to have your Insurance queries solved.
Laura,
Usually across the board would mean you are not being singled out. It typically refers to a statewide increase of a particular carriers insurance and is approved by the state. There may be rebates or discounts you could apply for that could help reduce your premium, If you contact your agent they could probably assist you with that. Alternatively your states financial/insurance department probably has information posted regarding both the increase and any discounts.
For instance in Florida discounts are given for wind mitigation that result in 20% - 50% off of premiums. Having a burglar alarm will gain you a discount etc.
If it makes you feel any better the average premium in south Florida is well over $1.00/sf .
