First of all, are you already licensed?
If so, just contact any insurance company like Allstate, State Farm, etc. and see what they have to offer.

If not licensed, you must go through the process.
I would suggest that you go to the Department of Insurance web site for California - just Google "Ins Dept CA".

You will find all the necessary information about the pre-licensing training and the state license exam. You can even register to take the insurance exam online.

I guess the process of becoming an insurance agent is almost the same. You need to pass the exam and submit all the needed requirements.
