| I want to make a career change and I have decided on selling insurance. I am presently preparing for the Texa insurance exam. After I get my licence I plan on working for Aflac. To cover my expenses I need to make at least 35K gross, is this amount reachable during my first year. I have been in sales for about 7 years but I have never sold insurance. Any feedback will be appreciated. Thanks!! |

Is it possible, absolutely. BUT it depends entirely on you! What's your plan? Have you thought about how to drive your business? What support is available in your local Aflac office?
There are also many other insurance companies you could start with while you learn, and some even pay a training salary. Only you know the best thing for you, but I would encourage you to check into all of your options before going with Aflac.
Here's an article that I wrote a few months back...

Hello Hurtarte30, welcome to aboard
Buddy, you have posted the same query thrice. It's enough to post one time in this board to grab the attention of the community members. Anyway...
The figure that you want to achieve in the first year is fairly reachable and thanks for not asking whether you'll be able to earn million on your first year in the trade. Trust me, people do ask such questions.
However, as Chris has mentioned it'd depend a lot upon your abilities and if you pick the right track, you'd achieve your target fairly easily.
Just curious, any particular reason to pick AFLAC to begin your career?
