Hi folks,

I new to the forum and the industry. I am specializing in Medicare for seniors and building my business. I have 6 agents. Is this the right area to ask info on FMO's. Specifically is there a list of FMO's so I can contact them for additional infol

I still sell a good number of medicare advantage plans, and I'll tell you why. I live in South Carolina, and an overwhelming percentage of the seniors living in my area are low income. I'm not talking a little low income, I'm talking most are dual eligibles (Medicare and Medicaid) and many are on the low income drug subsidies and programs through the state.

There are virtually NO doctors in the area that will accept Medicaid, meaning that a lot of these people go to the free clinic to obtain medical care. Unfortunately, this means that they have no continuity of care and they see a different physician every single visit.

The Medicare Advantage plans allow these people to have access to certain health care benefits that they would never have otherwise. It also helps with glasses, dental care, and hearing.

If anybody can afford a supplement, that is what I suggest. However, a medicare advantage plan is still better than nothing...especially in my area where they are so widely accepted. I stick with the big companies and have been very happy with a couple of them.

One of the companies I deal with a lot is not going to be around in 2010...which means I now have about 50 clients that HAVE to sign up for another program. I've heard great things about the new Cigna Medicare Advantage plan...It has a $30 co-pay for hospital inpatient, no co-pays at the doctor's office, and a $2000 out of pocket maximum. We'll see when it gets a little closer to the time.

LOL i was about to comment something similar. I heard a few in my own time. I live in new jersey. One from next door in a ghetto. best part was no one cared. Our secondary school was a diverse place. there were kids that later on went to Ivy League schools and kids that went on to serve life sentences for murder. School events like sports games or parties were type of neutral zones. That meant that people from all backgrounds hung out along side each other and were friends. there have been kids though that were gang members, When they went back to their block they were in diverse world. That world there are occassions when spilled into "recurrent" college life. Crack cocaine was rampant at the time (90 and kids were making a ton of money selling it.It wasn a strong AK 47 drive by, It sounded like a hand gun, Maybe 3 hits. not everybody was hurt, Windows weren harmed, The party just proceeded.there are still bikergangs that are mostly germans, but you are the exceptions.
