Hi, can anyone tell me about insurance agency marketing? I'd also like to know more about their PR strategies.

It's important that an agency identifies its target market during its promotional campaign. It should be a part of all their advertisements. Their market strategies have to be drawn on the basis of factors like -their employees, partners, prospective and existing customers etc.

I agree with Roddick. A geo-target is important to your campaign. In terms of online marketing blogging and social networking are very good, even though somewhat time consuming. Sign up for a blog at Wordpress or Blogger and start blogging, about insurance, community news, events, and even company promotions. Then tell all your friends and clients about it on Facebook and Twitter.

Overall social networking is time consuming but can yield some good results.

Social Networking is only time consuming if you're not into it. Most agents have a genuine interest in their clients, and this is just another way of interacting with them. As for blogging who doesn't like giving opinions, especially on something you're an expert at.

Online marketing may be cheaper than radio or TV advertising.

Definitely it can!
Social networking is one good way of interacting and keeping a tag of what your clients are still looking for.

It's been an year that I'm using both. I'd say that it was slow initially, but now my network is growing faster than ever before.

I guess it's more about spreading the word. It helps create a platform wherein you may exchange views regarding your upcoming products and services. Your existing network helps gather more members on it's own.

Your could actually be offering many benefits and services. Make sure that you also highlight the communication modes and standard of services alongside your product features. That's the most important thing about strategic marketing.

Consistency is key to any online marketing strategy. Whatever social networking, online advertising or search engine optimization you participate in, make sure you are consistent. That means blogging and tweeting regularly and your following will eventually start to grow.

Great advice from everyone. Social Media is certainly an integral part of implementing an interactive online marketing campaign. When used correctly, social media will generate new prospects as well as build brand loyalty with current customers and can be done at a fraction of the cost of traditional media.

Personally, I think one of the best features of social media is that it provides the means for you to target your campaign directly at your market, unlike traditional media (yellow pages, radio, tv, telemarketing, and so on).

A piece of advice though, people are tired of getting "sold" day-in and day-out as traditional media has done for so many years. Use social media to engage your prospects and customers. Let them know who your agency is and earn their business by providing information that is useful to them while demonstrating you are an expert in your field.
