How do you form the habit of prospecting? How do you make sure you see or talk to people regularly?

Well, I'd say that to some communicating with people come naturally. I'd an aunt who couldn't sleep at night if she hadn't chatted and gossiped with the neighborhood women for a day. That is the quality required in the agents as well. I'm sure a senior life insurance agent would be able to provide you with better life insurance prospecting ideas than anyone else could.

I think maintaining a memorandum containing the birthdays and anniversary of the clients & wish them on the occasions may help an agent to grow relationship with his clientele.

...or you could just ask every man, woman and child that you have any human being to human being,... one on one contact with,.... for any reason whatsoever...

:P Hi,...I'm Gary,... will you buy from me?

Selling insurance is simple, but it's not easy.

The best things in life are both simple and FREE.

I don't buy leads and I would starve quickly if I didn't prospect. It is all that I can think about.

Also, find ways to have others prospect for you! For example, you can offer your clients bonuses or incentives to refer you business (although if you really take care of your clients you won't have to bribe them for business!)

Enlist the help of your friends and family...Ask everybody...WHO do you know that needs to talk to me about insurance??! If you ask Do you know anybody...the answer is almost always no!

Ask open ended questions...Ask your doctor, ask anybody you can think of.

Make a list of possible networking opportunities (including chamber of commerce meetings / events, etc.)! If you do mostly property and casualty...go to home improvement shows and set up a booth!

Meet with other professionals (attorneys, cpa's, etc.) and discuss ways that you can refer business to each other.

These are just a few ideas!
