I'm sure that the definition of success varies from person to person. For some people it's the paycheck, whereas the sheer pleasure of helping people in need may define success to others.
I'd love to hear from the other members as well about their ideas about success.

It really depends on the person on how he or she consider success. But for me, success in life insurance is when you help other people by providing a product that can give financial protection and eventually lets you earn more commissions.
Honest life insurance selling = money. That is success for me. _________________ Free Insurance Quotes

Combination of everything. I want to go to bed at night knowing I did the right thing for my customer. When I get a call from someone who said they were referred by a current customer, I know I am a success. When I review my reports and see my ytd premium and has it has increased, I can see I am successful. Money of course doesn't hurt.
As long as I do thing ethically and morally, I figure everything else will fall into place, and I will be successful. _________________ Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it. - Ferris Bueller |

For me it's the freedom of being self-employed.
You are truly not free in this country if you are an indentured servant to the ever relentless corporate structure.
Of course the main reason self-employed persons are self-employed is because they can't work for anyone one else!

Over 50% of new insurance agents do not make it 18 months. So if you are able to pay your bills after 18 months and not looking for another job. Then that is success.
This is the only job for me and I would not trade it for the world. _________________ Mark Rosenthal
