This has been done in accordance with the suggestions from our senior community members.
Not wanting to stir the pot just want to go on the record, I AM NOT one of the senior memebers that suggested this, this is the first I've heard of it too...HOWEVER..........
It is my understanding the reasoning behind this is thus...after lowering the pay out to ten dollars from fifty, there is the distinct possiblity that posters could simply post in the pub, ramble on (like some of us, including me! ) do, or fill it up with jokes etc, which really isn't contributing to the main thrust of the forum, however I personally think it contributes greatly to the 'community' aspect of this site...after all when it's all said and done this is an INSURANCE forum...I also understand that this is typcial of paid to post forums, and most particularly the debt/credit etc. forums...and they want them all uniform since they are all part of the same affiliate....This being the case, and understanding now the reason behind it, "I" totally understand and while I'd love to see them pay for everything...and about triple the amount too while we're at it ! I think from a business perspective it makes perfect sense...Just my own personal thoughts on the matter for what they're worth...

I think if are concerned about people posting ten dollars worth of jokes, then have the jokes thread eliminated, or have it not earn money, I just think it is a shame, the pub is where a lot of relationships built and trust.
Well,I did not know that the pay out was lowered to 10.00 from 50.00.When did that go into effect?I think that has something to do with why I am not getting paid to post at all.Says my alloted has been met at only 4 posts. Here is my opinion, the pub draws lots of people and guests and then they in turn see they can find lots of info here also. But if people stop posting on the pub it will dry up and NOT draw in the guests for the other areas of the forum.
good thought hummingbird, I think the pub should stay alive and kicking and be paid for, dump the joke thread if you have to, but pay for the pub, pay for the pub, pay for the pub!!!!!

But really in the interest of fairness should've happened simultaneously on both sites....not one today and the other in a few days weeks...if the main reason is uniformity.
I think when changes are insituted (unless urgent) it is ALWAYS a good idea to have a 'set' day...ie ''starting March 1st or Feb 15th'' whatever...I think it is easier for people to take when they have a 'head's up' rather than 'blam', also as they have asked, is this starting yesterday? or retro the the first of the month? see my point?
Another thing if (again) uniformity is the main reason this 'had' to be done, then hey Lakemen, what is this I hear about a nomination and a hundred bucks to posters? I don't pretend to understand it (clearly I don't venture to those sites, but think I may soon )....
I totally understand and support the business aspect of it....but just think maybe should start it the SAME time you do on the other boards or
Maybe rather than cut the pay completely from the pub, because it is very valueable...how about paying half rate for pub posts?

Everyone has good points, ok, so we have had our say and thats that. Do with them what you may. I found out this morning that the Credit forum has stopped paying for posts in the pub also.If I had time I would just sit and talk on the pubs all day.Unfortunately I don't have that much time and my time is valuable.So I will post on the pubs if I have time if not then I will cut it out.Its a necessity for me. I will really miss posting on the pubs too.
I do understand each and every community member's concern here over the issue of pub posts not paying anything.
But my hands are tied!!
The 4 sites under the banner of www.ourcommunitypower.org is owned by one person. And we make money only out of the Debt Forum and the rest of the 3 (mortgage, insurance and credit sites) are still in the developing stage. This fact has also been shared with two of the senior members, Lori and InsuranceMaze.
The Debt Forum has a lead process going which acts as a revenue generator for the site. Hence, there we have something called the "hall of fame" where people are paid $100 once they are nominated into it. Here is a screenshot of the lead form in the Debt site.
Once the AmPmInsure Community starts making money we would be glad to share the money with the forum members too. The aim of these 4 communities is to make money together. Rest assured that we are not that far away from having the lead-system in this site too.

Ok, I understand the why now.Hopefully it won't be long before we can post on the pub here and it pays. Of course none of the pubs pay now. The credit and AmPm used to pay in the pub but no more .Not sure why the credit forum stopped as their pay out is still at 50 isn't it?
