I'm helping to plan a get together of 30 friends from a camping group. We've found a boyscout camp that can do the rental, and it's got advantages over a national park in terms of proximity, privacy, etc. but talking to the camp, they require that we have insurance.

The guy who runs the camp is an uninterested sort who's hard to get on the phone, so I'm curious if anyone knows what kind of insurance you need, to put up some 30 adults at a boyscout camp for 2 nights (1 weekend). I don't even know what that kind of insurance is called.

any help would be approciated.

You may consider the BSA (Boy scouts of America) liability program. It covers you for injuries.

You could obtain a "Blanket" disability policy for your group. Or are they requiring liability coverage for damages done by your group? You don't really identify which coverage is being required.

Talk to a local agent.

Living in a campground does not exclude you from filing federal and state income tax forms. You obviously do not need to pay property taxes for all of the benefits you receive from local government, such as roads, police protection, community low-income health care, public library internet use, and past education. You should open a mailbox at a private box location or have mail delivered general delivery to a post office or ask the campground manager whether you can have mail delivered to the campground address to receive mail from the government in care of general delivery at a post office. Keep in mind that you are receiving more benefits from the government than you pay in taxes of all kinds.

Exactly what is your point? Live as a hermit to avoid taxes?

You lost me just before you wrote: "Living in a campground does not exclude you from filing federal and state income tax forms."
