I am the only member left in my family the life insurance policy befeniciary is deceased as welll how do i pay for the funerall e-maill me thabam@msn..com

Sorry for your loss.

If there is life insurance in force, it will be payable to the decedent's estate, which would be liable for the funeral expenses. Have to get the funeral director to agree to front the cost today and file a claim against the estate tomorrow, then have to wait for (1) the insurance money to arrive, and (2) the probate court to approve the claim (assuming the matter is headed to probate court).

Problem with that is, if there are other claims against the estate, there could be nothing for the funeral director to collect. Wages of employees, and unpaid federal, state, and local taxes all have superior claims. The funeral director should be next in line, ahead of other valid claims. He can't just dig up the dead guy and return him to you, but he should have an expectation of being paid for his services.

You'll either have to pay for the funeral yourself or hope that the funeral director is willing to accept payment later either from the estate or from you.

Just because the person who you think is the beneficiary is dead, don't assume that there will be a payment to the estate.
