greece policy

My Mother left my father when I was four. He is from Greece. I saw my papa for the last time fifteen years ago. He died ten years ago. I have a brother who stayed in Greece when my mother remarried and moved to the US. Evidently he attempted to collect on the insurance and was denied because my name is on the policy.

After all this time I am now being told that my father had a life insurance policy with ING in Greece. I am attempting to find out the truth and remember him showing me some papers when we visited the last time before his passing.

Does anyone have any experience with collecting funds from overseas?

I have no policy number, only his name and date of birth.
