I need to purchase some life insurance in the next week. Do any of you have recommendations for companies that sell life insurance other than the obvious large companies (I.e. State Farm, Northwestern Mutual, etc.) I'm only looking for term 30 life insurance.

....or can you point me to a site which contains a list of well rated insurers. All input is appreciated.

Hello Nick,

It is hard to recommend a specific company without knowing your medical history. I would suggest finding an independent agent in your local area or state. They can run a quote for you and check premiums for multiple companies.

They will also know which insurance carriers are the best for your unique situation. Some carriers are more liberal than others depending on the health or medical condition.

Keep in mind this process can take several weeks. Once you select a quote, you will then usually need to have a medical exam done and your application will need to be reviewed by the insurance company.

If you happen to live in Virginia, I am an agent and would love to help you. If not, and you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Do you have car or home insurance? If so, that company might be able to provide a bundled deal for you.

Any special reason for this? Like you're planning to commit suicide on New Year's Eve? What's the rush?

As for companies from which to choose, Matthew is correct, working with a local independent agent is most appropriate. We can help determine your actual coverage needs, and determine the best product to meet those needs. 30-year Term Life Insurance may be the least costly, but a Whole Life, Universal Life, Variable Life or Variable Universal Life policy may be in your best interest.

If you have a need for life insurance, you need to purchase the most appropriate policy today that will meet your needs for today and for the future.

It will be nice if you go for quotes by making a decision on type of plan, as the agent will guide on the companies that are reliable and you can get quotes from websites.

I am an Insurance broker here in Florida. You should find a broker in your state. A broker will guide you through the process and will know what is the best company is at the lowest price. If you need help in finding a good broker in your state let me know .
