 What?? You aren't serious, right?
However, as far I know the cancer insurance only pays for the medical expenses and its not a life policy. The life insurance, however, would pay even if the insured commits suicide but there is a waiting period, i.e. if the insured commits suicide within the first two years of purchasing the policy, he wouldn't receive the death benefit.
We recently had a geart discussion over this issue. I'd find and post it for you.

cancer policy only take care about the medical expenses of the person, it is not about the life policy.
But sir it is better not to try to cheat in the disguise of suicide.  |

I looked this up and they do appear to exist. Cancer Insurance Policy can help pay for non medical expenses, such as loss of income; child care expenses; out-of-town treatment; and special diets, clothes or prosthesis. According to information I found. It also has benefits to help with the payment of screenings for the early detection of some cancers as well as the financial aid you may need if diagnosed with cancer.
You can type in cancer protection plans and find out more if you like. |

This is the first time I have heard about cancer insurance. This forum is very good. I can learn more about any other types of insurance.
But about the question of suicide, i think it depends if it is within a contestability period of 2 years. I think Jeremy has stated it already.

If you lived in Louisiana, you'd know what a cancer policy is. We have a high rate of cancer and I know many many people who have these policies. But you're right, a cancer policy pays living benefits only.
Btw, there are life policies available that allow you to access a portion of the face amount/death benefit if you develop certain types of cancer or other critical illnesses. |

i would think not. the cancer policy only pays medical support, if i'm not mistaken. some policies will cover non-medical areas mentioned by fireyone, but that depends on which cancer policy you're holding. you can call up your agency to check on it.
as for the patient dying due to suicide, it is under the coverage of life insurance, and shouldn't be covered by cancer insurance. hence, the cancer policy will not pay out for death, but only other expenses related to cancer. |

there are so many new insurance policies come in the market everyday so it is not a wonder that you will find a policy which has a combination of the life insurance as well as medical insurance.
one need to find and search for the right product for oneself and then it will be really possible to have a right combination of all the benefits associated with the insurance.
