When ever i go to purchase any products especially the Banking/Finance products like bank accounts, credit card etc, they list various list of benefits and most common are life insurance, airline baggage etc

Do you really get this benefits.. Especially on Life insurance, do you need to claim benefits ?

Any body can throw some light on it?

It is my understanding that a family member can do a search on MIB.com for lost policies. All Life insurance is reported there.

The MIB does have a large database. I'm not sure if their records go back for this purpose longer than 7 years. I don't know if that is a rolling 7 years or if they just started having this policy locator service 7 years ago. All life insurance isn't reported, but much of it is.

I think the discussion is going totally in different direction than the post was made for,,, we have started discussiing the findmypoilicy.com rather than benefits of services provided by credit card companies...

it seems I need to start the same post again

note: Moderator, I am starting this posts again to have a better discussion on the topic.
